I know this has nothing to do with the above post, but I figured you guys would know about this as much as anyone...
How do you get quake to run in Direct3D modes? I downloaded one patch for it and it really sucked ass. Are there any fast and reliable D3Dquake executables out there, an if so, where?

I am not aware of any D3D GLquake ports myself. Although there is one way to *try* and get GLquake running on your PC.
In your Quake folder there should be a file called opengl32.dll, back it up somewhere (not your quake folder though) and then delete it. Now try running GLquake. If this doesn't work then I'm afraid I cant help you :/

I canna believe it! that worked! Works pretty well, although not as sharp and fast as normal opengl but hey, not much difference I have to say... thanks a heap, DAZ.

the opengl32.dll that came with GLQuake is only ment for Voodoo cards, so if you don't have one, you better delete it or else you get weird errors and it won't run :)
it IS normal OpenGL rotpig, you do know you can crank up your resolution using -width in the command line don't you?
