If you are new to the site, hello and welcome! This is the archive for MPQ, a Quake deathmatch level review site that ran from 1996 to 2002. You'll find nearly 500 reviews with most of the maps available for download.
If you require any help then please read the About & FAQ page.
The last incarnation of the site is browsable, but note that it's provided as is. Feel free to browse the site and if you have any comments or feedback, please let me know.

Where's me washboard? ^

How queer… Anyway a rare occurrence by MPQ standards for 2001, a review (or three)!
Reinc1 - Haemorrhagie by Sebastian "GeN" Bentler
The Haunted by Gilt
The Ravage by Alexey 'ParboiL' Pakhomov
Finally all the Reincarnation maps are reviewed and after having looked at them all I have to say Reinc3 was my fav. The twisted look it is has is just so unique and it doesn't play too badly either :).
I've been more than a little swamped recently and I shall have something to show for it. Just so you know, Ninja is helping me with creating a front-end for Quake amongst other games. He's currently finding all the bugs whilst I furiously beat it into submission.
"this man is a machine" - chapter 2 ^

Big D blows a phat one. Check out Sex Without a kiss by Malevola.
Two new reviews for you today, the first is Skis1 and the other, funnily enough is Skis2
Enjoy!
One for the road ^

Daz takes GrindSpire's reviewing chair and it looks like hes got everything sorted pretty quickly. Not to feel left out I've reviewed Return to Zero by
SleepwalkR.
Thanks to everyone who emailed me and posted comments here putting their names forward as a reviewer. If I need another reviewer at a later date I'll know who to contact :).
Btw, RPG mentioned putting up banners which link to reviewers websites. If I get enough I'll do a proper ciruclation of them, instead of our lovely g0at banners.

Reviewer needed ^
by Paul - Sunday 14 January 2001 @ 05:05
GrindSpire has stopped doing reviews for MPQ. It became apparent to me what with him not actually doing any reviews when I asked him. So after a quick chat with GrindSpire, he has decided he wants to map instead and I hope he'll make some more Quake maps so I can review them here :P.
This brings up the question of someone filling his boots. I'm now working on the SPX project and will potentially be working on something else after that. So I definitely think a 3rd reviewer is required. If you're interested email me or post details here.
More banners ^
by Paul - Thursday 11 January 2001 @ 06:21
Malevola has chipped in and made a couple of banners. So there are now four circulating. Cheers Mal!
I'll have a review or two up tomorrow night.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. You'll all be happy to know the colour changing antics on the site have stopped for a while. Anyhoo down to business. I've amended the review of "Rpdm8 - The Grim Citadel" and there are some new reviews up this evening. Fern has also chipped in and done a review of "The Proving Grounds."
Kaydm4 - Industrial Disease by Kayin
Crocodile Tears by Tronyn
The Longest Yard by Jeff McWhorter
The Proving Grounds by Jeff McWhorter
My irc stats for December 2000 are up so go check them out. Along with that I've made some site tweaks. The date a map is reviewed is shown in the score box and some misc stuff you'll probably not notice.
Fern has also been downloading maps and helping me to sort out any 404 downloads. I have the majority of the maps still on my computer so if I can't location the original I'll just zip up what I have and upload it to the site.
Here is the full list of what was fixed:
Retaliation by Ninja
Silence 2 Violence by INhabitaNT
Iron treeS by JoCke (now Scrawn)
Phalacrocorax auritus by Scrawn
CCTDM1- Base Desires by Overlord.UK aka Phil Webb
CCTDM2 by KTF.Gizmo
CCT_Team by KTF.Gizmo
CDM2 by Fasad
Impdm3 - Strafeterium II by Biff Debris
Impdm2 - Strafeterium I by Biff Debris
Impdm1 - The Devil's Toolshed by Biff Debris
I have also unwittingly given the site the ability to do skins. Well that's what GrindSpire told me. Can't say I thought of it as that, its all hard coded into the site cgi. I was thinking of doing a load of colour settings (not physical changes to the site layout) and allowing people to pick which one they like. If anyone is interested in that, then email me or whack some comments down on the news item.
Colour changing magic ^
by Paul - Saturday 23 December 2000 @ 08:43
I got a little bored so I've made the site automatically switch colours on certain dates. And since its Christmas, everything has turned red.
If anyone has any suggestions on colour schemes for certain dates then email me and I'll see what I can do.
Expect some new reviews in the next day or so.
